BREAKING NEWS! The Obama Administration and the United States Department of Homeland Security will formally announce this morning that it will offer deferred action to DREAMers!
Deferred action allows a person who is present in the United States without legal status to have a work permit, have a social security card and a drivers license.
DREAMers is a group of people who have entered into the United States before the age of 16 and have either completed high school, currently enrolled in high school or have received a GED or a college degree.
As of June 15, 2012 they must be under the age of 30, must have resided in the United States for at least 5 years, have maintained a continuous residence in the United States, have not been convicted of one serious crime or multiple minor crimes.
